White Water
Rafting NY: Experience Exhilaration
Why is Rafting Different?
White water rafting is a sport for thrill seekers. It is generally
considered an “extreme sport.” The six levels of rapids range from
small rough spots to certifiably insane (Surviving grade 6 rapids is
usually a matter of luck rather than advanced skill.) There are
risks at any level, but the higher the grade, the rougher the ride.
Just the term “white water” indicates churning movement instead of a
serene glide through the water.
Who loves White water rafting?
Due to the inherent turbulence in white water rafting, it means
people who love rafting don’t want a gentle ride down one of
nature’s waterways – they want to test their mettle against Mother
Nature. They want some challenges, including rocks, trees, and some
danger--the adrenaline rush during and after the ride makes it all
worth it. Here in the Adirondacks, we will be tackling the Hudson
River which will not disappoint!
Safety First
Although white water rafting can be dangerous, it’s important to
remember that taking basic safety precautions will make the
experience better. One of the most important is having an
experienced guide. All guides at Adirondack Adventures are
professional and licensed with ample experience. Next, use equipment
designed specifically for white water rafting. Wear your life jacket
and helmet, and listen to instructions. Stay alert and you can enjoy
yourself on your white water rafting adventure.
Hold on Tight! It’s going to be an amazing ride.
